I wrote you some songs/ as much for me as for you/ I've been away for a month/ and I'll be gone for a few/ and I don't know how long/ I can watch the snowflakes/ before my sanity breaks/ and I come unglued. I need your love/ I need your love/ just like I need warm gloves/ darling, I need your love/ Since I can't have your hugs/ you'd better fill my inbox/ because I need your love/ Clarissa, I need your love.
2.
i'm workin in a diamond mine/cos I gotta get mine/ I'll be gone a long long time/ just working in this diamond mine/ working in a diamond mine/ cos I gotta get mine/ diamond cash and diamond shine/ diamonds robbing all my time/ slaving in a diamond mine for an extra $1.09/ diamond dirt and diamond grime/ living like i'm doing time/ holed up in a diamond mine/ just to earn another dime/ it's unsafe to go outside/ and i'm afraid i'll lose my mind/ working in a diamond mine/ wishin for a warmer clime/ in theis hell of rock and ice/ i can't win without sacrifice/ i'd trade my eyes to see some pine/ or any tree of any kind/ i look and look but all i find/ is that i'm going snow blind/ working in a diamond mine/ don't want to leave you behind/ but you know i'm yours, your mine/ and when i'm home we'll wine and dine/ our life will be set up real fine/ diamond cash and diamond shine/ our dreams will come true in die time/ from working in this diamond mine.

arctic cold 03:25
I'm in the arctic cold/ and I fear I'm growing old/ I'm being put to the test/ no I don't get any rest/ Yes I'm in this arctic snow cone/ and I feel so all alone/ but I've got your love as my guide/ you are my northstar every night/ I'm in the arctic cold/ I feel the ache deep in my bones/ the arctic wind outside my window/ casts visions of the Wendigo/ I'm in this arctic snow globe/ and I'm carryin this heavy load/ I'm carryin this scaffold/ until they let me come home to you/Well you're like an arctic fox/ yes I miss you lots and lots/ I see your tracks in the snow/ these little things that let me know/ that you are near/ oh yes my dear/ you're in my soul/ whoah whoah who-oa/ I said hey hey hey/ oh yeah yeah ye-ah/ Said whoa whoa who-oa/ there's so much snow/ said hey hey hey/ hey little bush plane/ won't you take me home?/ won't you take me home?/ won't you take me home?/ oh won't you take me home?
4.
whitebread 02:36
You're so colourful and I'm so plain/ I'm white bread, you're muligrain/ let's stay in the oven, let's hide/ the outside world is all teeth and knives and/ you always give them something to chew on/ but I've been soft in the middle my whole life/ You're so fragile, yet so strong/ I'm unflappable, but always wrong/ I can fake my way, fumbling through the dark/ you could never be something you aren't/ you always give them something to chew on/ but I've been soft in the middle my whole life/ sometimes life is difficult, sometimes things are hard/ I can be your anchor, if you'd protect my heart/ 'cause I've been soft in the middle my whole life
5.
Every moment of every day I text you with my mind/ I feel so far away and every minute I'm reminded/ it's so obvious to me/ I need technology/ cos 21 days feels like eternity/ satellite delay/ before I hear the things you say/ and I film the things I see/ cos I guess I want to share 'em/ it's so mundane stark and barren/ the nothngness at which I'm starin'/ and the bandwidth isn't great/ so you're just gonna have to wait/ to see my cage/ to feel my pain/ to know I miss you/ every second I'm away/ so you can see it's rough/ it's rough on me here too/ but I'm working hard to make it home to you
6.
let's get married/ let's spend our lives together/ let's get married/ this song will be ours forever/ we don't need invites or cake or any of that/ I'll get a ring and a priest and we'll dress up the cat/ we can send out CDs to our family and friends/ our uncles and aunts, coworkers and pets/ they can crank it up loud and they'll all sing along/ let's get married/ let's spend our lives together/ let's get married/ this song will be ours forever/ let's get married, I'll take you to gay Paris/ we'll drink champagne, we'll drink chablis/ we'll dance in the rain down the Champs Elysees/ and when we come home again, triumphantly/ we'll be married/ we'll sing/ we are married/ here's the ring/ let's get married and live out our lives like seahorses in spring/ now we're married, let's sing/ we'll happily share everything/ cos we're married, together we'll cling til we're both dead and buried.

8.
Sometimes it's like you're tied to the track/ and I can't stop this train/ it keeps on running me over/ again and again/ I can hear your heartbeat in the chug of the steam/ I see dark clouds overhead/ and I pray it's a dream/ because this ominous track has no beginning or end/ it's a continuous loop around the earth's circumference/ this goddamned terrible track carries the tundra express/ its hell-forged engine won't stop until it's torn us to shreds/ it's got no switch-man and it don't need any brakes/ got two men shovelling coal almost as fast as it takes/ and though I thrash and I flail and I dig in my heels/ no effort I ever make will stop the thundering steel/ it's got me under its weight, it's got me under its wheels/ and the farther I'm dragged the farther from you I feel/ it's bearing down on your heart it's slicing deep through my veins/ I'd trade the rest of my life to put a stop to this train.
9.
I'm here on top of the world/ and the only road out/ is slowly melting away/ soon there will be no escape/ when I'm talking to you/ my voice goes into the phone/ it's beamed up into the sky/ to a waiting satellite/ it bounces over a ways/ into some western airspace/ then down to a big ol dish/ where it makes another switch/ then out the transmission tower/ throught the Vancouver showers/ and one one-hundredth of one/ whole second after I've spoken/ my voice will exit your cellular/ and tickle your pretty ear/ and even though we're connected/ by this intricate network/ at the speed of sound/ the emptiness is resoundingly/ apparent to me/ and it's because you're not here.

derp derp derp derpderp derp derp derp...
11.
let's make it up as we go along/ let's sing a song/ it might not work but it won't be wrong/ it's where we belong/ a rusted hull and a rotting floor/ this vessel's a beast/ don't hesitate c'mon jump aboard/ so what if it leaks?/ the twisted spire is charred by fire/ there's broken glass and it's doused in gas/ but when the sunlight hits it just right/ there's glory in the gloom/ in dirt the flowers bloom/ a congregation of roughened rock faces/ frozen in time/ pipe organ piles that stretch for miles/ dutifully chime/ a wire spool pulpit with a picture window/ framing behind/ a holy place for whoevers determined/ give it a try.

about

Weekday Yardsale Vancouver, British Columbia

Weekday Yardsale is what happens when Jordan Pond is assaulted by a few moments of quiet solitude. It's pretty all over the place, but so are Jordan's tastes. He likes some things and dislikes others but sees no point in drawing lines in the sand. He also tries to keep it as simple and raw as possible, because he feels music is just better that way. ... more
