about

The single biggest challenge I face when I'm out of town is simply staying sane, keeping cool, maintaining a good attitude when everything that makes me happy is far far away. When you're in a camp so isolated that people are being sent home with accute symptoms of claustrophobia, it becomes a very big challenge. But probably the biggest challenge of being in that mine, was the breakdown of communication with home. A lot of jobs I'm still able to text in the middle of the day, most jobs I go back to a room with a working hi-speed connection. This job limited me to e-mail so slow it wasn't worth the effort and long distance phone calls which often cut out. and of course only at the end of a long work day. This song and probably all the others were penned in the frustrating moments after a call disconnected and I sat alone in my room feeling even more alone.

lyrics

Every moment of every day I text you with my mind/ I feel so far away and every minute I'm reminded/ it's so obvious to me/ I need technology/ cos 21 days feels like eternity/ satellite delay/ before I hear the things you say/ and I film the things I see/ cos I guess I want to share 'em/ it's so mundane stark and barren/ the nothngness at which I'm starin'/ and the bandwidth isn't great/ so you're just gonna have to wait/ to see my cage/ to feel my pain/ to know I miss you/ every second I'm away/ so you can see it's rough/ it's rough on me here too/ but I'm working hard to make it home to you

about

Weekday Yardsale Vancouver, British Columbia

Weekday Yardsale is what happens when Jordan Pond is assaulted by a few moments of quiet solitude. It's pretty all over the place, but so are Jordan's tastes. He likes some things and dislikes others but sees no point in drawing lines in the sand. He also tries to keep it as simple and raw as possible, because he feels music is just better that way. ... more
