This song sums up the whole experience so succinctly that I could almost ditch the other songs! It's like the executive summary... The only thing that really requires explanation is the arctic fox. (you can look up the story of the wendigo) I filmed alot of the trip and subsequently lost alot of the footage when my laptop crashed, but I had been trying to document everything, and the reality quickly set in that there really wasn't a lot to see.. not a whole lot of variety.. snow, rocks, and some buildings and trailers and trucks. The prospect of wildlife was exciting, it seemed like the only thing anyone who wasn't a scaffolder would care to see. I really wanted to capture a few shots, but the animals of the arctic are really good at hiding. Needless to say I saw a lot of tracks.. I was able to pin down roughly where an arctic fox was keeping a den near our lunch shack, but I never saw her.. I tried to keep my camera on me at all times in case she turned up. Sure enough, no sooner had I shut it off, put the lens cap on and stuffed it in my pocket when I came face to face with her!!
